9 October 2026: Clearer recipe filters
Fixed a layout conflict that squeezed the recipe finder dropdowns on wider screens. Filters now line up in three columns on desktop, two on tablets and one on phones, with the expandable mobile panel retained.
9 October 2026: Tick off your cooking steps
Cooking mode now lets you mark each method step as done, undo a completed step and reset the list. A progress count helps you keep your place. Completed instructions stay readable, and progress is kept when you leave and return to cooking mode on the same page. Reloading the page starts fresh.
9 October 2026: A clearer view while you cook
Every recipe now has a Cooking mode button for larger text, fewer distractions and quick links between ingredients and the method. Your chosen portions and ingredient ticks stay in place. You can also ask a supported browser to keep the screen awake while the page is visible. Exit cooking mode to return to the usual recipe view.
9 October 2026: More ways to find your next recipe
Recipe pages now suggest three more dishes below the method, with familiar photos, difficulty lights and dietary labels. On phones, the recipe finder keeps search visible and puts extra filters and sorting in an expandable panel. Selected filters can be removed individually, and filtered links still work without JavaScript.
8 October 2026: Clearer dietary notes and recipe browsing
The dietary notes page now has clearer sections, quick navigation and links to matching recipes, with updated guidance on personal acidity filters and the difference between avoiding cow’s milk and avoiding all dairy. A new browse-all link follows the homepage recipe selection, and the recipe directory now matches the homepage width.
8 October 2026: Consistent layouts across all recipes
The remaining 19 recipes now use the clearer recipe layout, bringing all 22 recipes together with equipment lists, ingredient checkboxes, dietary labels, relevant kitchen tips and numbered methods. Existing serving and salad-size options keep their recorded quantities, including ingredients that do not scale evenly. Recipes without a recorded serving count keep their original quantities. The print layout omits menus and comments while retaining recipe notes. The unconfirmed duck oven temperature and conflicting pizza baking times remain clearly marked.
8 October 2026: Chicken Satay recipe refresh
Chicken Satay now uses the clearer recipe layout, with an equipment list including measuring spoons and a jug, clickable dietary labels, relevant kitchen tips and numbered preparation and cooking steps. A serving selector replaces the old ingredient tabs with quantities for two or four people. The method separates the reserved dipping sauce from the chicken marinade and keeps the optional marinating time visible. The print layout uses the selected quantities.
8 October 2026: Honey Glazed Salmon recipe refresh
Honey Glazed Salmon now uses the clearer recipe layout, with equipment before ingredients, clickable dietary labels, kitchen tips and numbered cooking steps. A serving selector replaces the old ingredient tabs and updates quantities for two or four people, including the honey and sesame seeds in the method. The air-fryer instructions retain the ten-minute cooking time, with honey added after eight minutes. Salmon and Chicken Korma also have a compact print layout that keeps the selected quantities and omits menus, comments and other page controls.
8 October 2026: A clearer Chicken Korma recipe
Chicken Korma is the first recipe to try an updated layout, with a concise introduction, a wider reading area, a clearer ingredient checklist, an equipment section and numbered cooking steps. Repeated information has been consolidated while keeping the ingredient quantities, timings and kitchen tips. A serving selector now offers 2, 4 or 6 portions and updates the quantities in both the ingredient list and cooking steps. Prominent, clickable labels show dietary options and Luke’s personal acidity rating. The recipe finder now filters by recorded personal acidity ratings and supports exact label searches such as “dairy free” and “low acidity”.
8 October 2026: Kitchen tips refresh
The Kitchen tips page now has a wider layout with clearly defined, numbered sections arranged one per row, clearer cup conversions, fresh-to-dried herb and garlic guidance, and a worked example for changing portions. Incorrect spoon conversions have been corrected to 5 ml per teaspoon and 15 ml per tablespoon. The page also includes an oven temperature guide and a compact reference sheet for printing or saving as a PDF. A portion calculator now adjusts individual ingredient quantities and shows familiar fractions for common spoon, cup and item amounts. New measuring technique tips cover spoons, liquids and kitchen scales. A clearer section menu stays available while reading, with a compact mobile menu, a current-section highlight and a back-to-top link. Calculator fields and menu controls have clearer borders, and the mobile section menu has a more descriptive screen-reader label. Bronze accents match the homepage, and the section menu now follows the introduction directly.
All 22 recipes now include a compact kitchen tips panel before the method, with two or three tips selected for the ingredients and cooking approach. Tips expand on the recipe page, and a Kitchen tips shortcut near the top makes them easy to find.
8 October 2026: About me refresh
The About me page has a warmer introduction, clearer sections on the story behind the site and dietary needs, and an updated layout for desktop and mobile.
