Chicken Teriyaki (G,D,R)

Gluten Free Dairy Free Red Meat Free Chicken Teriyaki

This is not too complex to make but there are a lot of ingredients although it only requires a bit of marinating time (20 mins).


Ingredients:
– 600g Chicken Breast/boneless thighs
– 1/4 cup (60 ml) of soy sauce (gluten free)
– 1/3 cup (80ml) of freshly squeezed orange juice (1-2 oranges)
– 3 tablespoons honey
– 1 teaspoon of finely grated fresh ginger
– 1.5 tablespoons of goats butter
– 1 tea spoon sesame oil
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– Spring onion and sesame seeds
Equipment:
– Chopping Board
– Sharp Knife
– Large Mixing Bowl
– Small Bowl Bowl
– Slotted Spoon
– Cling Film (or something to cover the bowl)
– Fridge (for marinating)
– Wok
– Hob

Marinating 20 mins

Cooking10-12 mins


Instructions

Marinade

1) Cut chicken into chicken fillets

2) In a large mixing bowl add the following ingredients to make the marinade: 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1/3 cup orange juice, 3 tablespoons of honey, 1 teaspoon of finely grated ginger, 1 teaspoon of sesame oil.  Whisky together.

3) Place chicken fillets into mixing bowl, making sure all of the chicken is covered.

4) Cover with clingfilm and place in the fridge to marinate for 20 mins

5) While marinade is sitting in the fridge, finely chop the spring onions.


Cooking

5) Pre heat the wok on hob which should be at a medium-high heat.

6) Remove chicken from bowl with slotted spoon, leaving as much marinade in the bowl as possible (the more the better).

7) Frying Pan/Griddle – Fry the chicken fillets until golden brown (around 5-7 mins) making sure cooked through properly.

8) Transfer the chicken into a small bowl.

9) Pour the remaining marinade into the wok (that previously had the chicken), adding the 1.5 tablespoons of goats butter and heating on the hob. Heat for around 1-2 mins as it slightly thickens.

10) Remove the wok (with marinade in) from the hob and add the chicken back into it. Mix thoroughly.

11) Serve over white rice, sprinkling spring onions and sesame seeds over the dish.
